Maggie
Valley is usually referred to as the “Gateway to the Smokies.”
Here
we are more laid back and relaxed, not too much hustle bustle. Maggie
Valley has several great restaurants, lots of gift shops, Soco
Gardens Zoo and other attractions to visit. The
best and newest attraction is “Wheels
Through Time” a transportation museum. A multi-million dollar
collection of vintage automobiles, motorcycles, Maggie Valley is an excellent place to base yourself for a few days and venture out daily to a new area and return back in the evenings without packing and unpacking. I personally like to compare Maggie to the hub of a wagon wheel and the spokes to little day trips and back. Day trips: Tour the “Land of the Waterfalls.” Ride the Smoky Mountain Railway. Picnic at Cataloochee Valley and see the Elks. Visit Cherokee’s Native American village, Santa’s Land and Harrah’s Casino. Go to Asheville and visit the Biltmore House. For Motorcycles: This area has some of the most beautiful motorcycle rides in the world. Ride the Blue Ridge Parkway, Deals Gap a.k.a. ''“The Tail of the Dragon” and the Cherohala Skyway. Wintertime Fun: We are the closest motel to Cataloochee Ski Area and Tony’s Tube World, it’s "Snow Fun!"
